Henry Ford was born on the 30th of July, 1863 in Greenfield Township, Michigan. His father, William Ford was born in County Cork, Ireland in 1826 after his family immigrated from Western England; whereas his mother, Mary Litogot Ford, was born in Michigan, America after her parents immigrated from Belgium in 1939.
Henry grew up on a farm in Michigan, where he had four siblings: Margaret Ford, Jane Ford, William Ford, and Robert Ford.
After his mother had passed in 1876, Henry's father thought that he would take over the family business. However, Henry had other plans.
"I never had any particular love for the farm- it was the mother on the farm that I loved."

Ford's continued experiments eventually led to his first automobile, the quadricycle. It had wire wheels that resembled large bike wheels, and was steered with a tiller like a boat. the vehicle had two forward speeds and no reverse speeds. while he was'nt the first person to put a gas powered internal combustion engine into a cart, he helped push the idea of automobiles in america.

Henry Ford put to work his vision of producing an automobile that was priced within achievable amounts, reliable, and efficient. How did he do it? With the invention of the Model T in 1908. This vehicle started up an entirely new era in personal transportation for the common man. It was easy to work, easy to maintain, and easy to handle on rough roads. This immediately become a massive success.
Another thing that helped the Model T's success was its customization. the Model T is a base chassis, however a buyer could go to a dealership and get his own package for the car. if he wanted a four door family car, he could, if he wanted a truck, he could, and if he wanted one with tank treads to dig through permafrost and snow, ford even had a package for that.
The Model T was so succesful, that by 1918 almost half of all registered cars in america were Model T's. Due to the rapid success of the car, for had to build a new plant. and so in 1910 they built the most technologically advanced assembly plant in america.

Ford's new plant in Michigan was an incredible success and their production rates skyrocketed. This plant used a new assembly line system. With it they brought workers in and out in shifts seamlessly so that the entire factory flowed like a river that ended with a Model T.
The entire factory was always in a bustle, with tires being made on the second floor, rolling down to be attached to chassis which then have body lowered onto them which ar built and moved in a different part of the factory. all of the various parts needed for this are also made at the factory. furnaces for steel, glass mills, rubber extractors, and wood saws, all working to create one end product. By the time the plant was finished, not only was it the farthest ahead, but it was also the largest factory in the entire world.
